"...so bad, they're actually bad!"

Can it be true? Are the Mutants of the Holocaust really that bad? Well judge for yourselves fellow music lovers. This page gives a brief snapshot of a short period in the bands lifespan. More will be written when I get round to it.
In the meantime, feel free to download these tracks recorded in the bass players bedroom sometime in '85 if memory serves correctly.

We ran through the songs once and then recorded them straight onto a cheap compact cassette recorder.

Train is not one of ours - not actually sure who wrote it, although everyone has covered it, but this is based on a cross between the Shockabilly and Motorhead versions. Mushroomhead, on the other hand is one of ours. This is really just a series of observations and comments about, and inspired by, a certain strain of fungus. End of the World is also one of ours. Originally it was at least three times as long as what you hear on this record but for some reason or another, the tape got cut and the rest has been lost to history. Shame really. Loose is, of course, the Stooges song, although again, our version is based on the one that the Birthday Party recorded. We finish off with a tune that changed every time we played it. Whoever was singing at the time invented some new words; only the opening line stayed the same.

What happened to side two, you ask?

Well quite honestly, that’s it! That’s all we have.

Garagepunk Hideout

The MOTH have recently signed up to Garagepunk Hideout, which as the name suggests ...well, you get the idea. There's not much more about us on there that isn't here but it does have some pretty cool discussions going on and if you're here then I guess you' be pretty interested in there.

New Retail Outlets

There are now three more shops that are stocking The Mutants album, just in case you don't like buying stuff online. The fine establishments in question are 101 Collectors Records (Farnham), Reflex (Newcastle)and Raves from the Grave (Frome). If you're in the neighbourhoods pay them a visit - they clearly have good taste.
